Eating My Way Through New York

new york 1 horse carriage central parkAs much as I miss my son in New York and quietly hope that one day he and his girl will possible move back to Colorado where we could see them more often, I never cease to be thankful that he chose such a fabulous place to live. Manhattan never disappoints. My son recently read back through my blog posts from all of our visits and commented that our trips out there have evolved over the past 4 years. One thing is for certain – we don’t ever miss a chance for a great meal, often sneaking in an extra stop in between for something we can’t resist. It might be a bit gluttonous, but don’t you want to come along for the tour?!new york 2 skyline hotel viewIn the past we’ve stayed at hotels a bit more centrally located, but they are several long blocks from my son’s apartment in midtown West, and tend to be pricier. So on this visit I decided to check out the Skyline Hotel on the west side. The rooms were large and tasteful, the staff was friendly, and this was the view from our hotel room. Really, it was perfect and only 3 short blocks to see the kids.new york 3 gunner black labPart of the reason for our visit was to see the new “grand-dog”, Gunner. Yes, we fell in love! The kids live close to the park that runs all the way north from midtown on the river on the west side – perfect for walking pups, which we did before setting out for 3 days of eating. I’ll give you the highlights.new york 4 fusha sushi
