Welcome Ellie!

April 28, 2011  •  Informational

You might recall that not long ago we lost our beloved golden retriever Max to sudden heart failure. We were devastated. And then, like all true dog lovers, we started searching for our next pup. We tried to adopt a rescue dog, but because we would not guarantee that the dog would never be left outside we were denied. I don’t really get that – many of our dogs in the past have loved sunning themselves on the porch while we were at work. So we returned to the same breeder where we found Max, and found Ellie, who just came home yesterday. She clocks in at 8 weeks old and nearly 15 pounds already, so she’s going to be a big girl. She runs to my office when she sees me going that way and lies calmly under my feet while I work, but that’s the only time she’s calm. If you’re in Denver, swing by and see her when you’re in the neighborhood. Already I’m her best friend in the world – she treats me like I’m the best thing that’s ever happened to her. So quickly, I’m in love all over again.

Oh, she is sooo sweet. I remember when you posted her very first picture. They grow so fast. I am glad you found another doggie friend. They are the best.

You know…if you HAD to bring her to our group meeting, she might get a lot of attention. Just saying…

Wish I could! But she doesn’t have her shots yet and isn’t really supposed to be out and about or around other dogs until she has them. Sorry I’m missing the meeting today…

Hi Michele! LOVE the pup. I have three so can relate to all you’ve said and the sadness with your loss as well. Saw also the nod on Lea Ann’s blog about your balsamic reduction. Will look forward to trying it. One of my fave things.

I too missed the meeting this weekend (out of town). Look forward to catching up!

Hi Michelle! Sounds like this little sweetie has hit the doggie lottery! So adorable -which will work in her favor as you make your way through the trials of puppyhood. 😉

I’m new to your blog, and love what I see. Lea Ann linked me over here for that crazy good balsamic glaze which I made, ate and loved last night. Great find for us!

Ellie is adorable! We just brought home Newt–golden doodle–our sweet Golden Retriever Chloe died three years ago. He too lies under my feet as I type away on the computer–so much fun to have a puppy to love. Next time Newt and I are in Denver visiting family, will give you a holler (that’s TX talk for stopping by)…..
