Merry Christmas, Buon Natale, Feliz Navidad, Happy Holidays!

December 24, 2010  •  Menus

I spent this week entering recipes into Tastebook to create a cookbook from all of the recipe cards I found that my mom had collected through the years and I’m busting with excitement to give her this gift tomorrow for Christmas. It holds 100 recipes and has all the classics – Jello concoctions from the 60s, various friends favorite salads, recipes from my grandmothers sporting ingredients like lard, and cards I had put in the box as a child for things like taffy or Yankee Doodle Macaroni. It even has the original heavily stained recipe for Chinese Steak, which I make to this day. I hope your holiday is filled with love and memories, like this cookbook is for me and will be for my mom.

I’ll be cooking for the whole family tomorrow – my kids all arrived home last night, and we’ll be joined by extended family tomorrow. If you’re still looking for a menu or just for a few dishes to fill in your menu, here’s a glimpse of what I’ll be cooking.
