Restaurant Roundup: The Wayback

April 1, 2019  •  Restaurants

The Wayback has been on “my list” for some time – since before it closed, remodeled, and reopened. Chef Jon Lavelle comes from Maialino in New York, one of my favorite restaurants in the city, the space is in a former Irish pub so retains that dark wood warm interior ambiance (image above courtesy of The Wayback website – we sat in that cozy booth in the right lower corner of the photo), and the food is inventive and surprising. On top of that, I was able to snag a dinner reservation on a Saturday night during restaurant week, which is tough at the good spots. Best to enjoy places like this with friends, so you can share a little of everything like we did.
