Kids love my summer cooking classes and the groups fill fast!
If you’d like to set up a private group class for your kids and their friends, please contact me to discuss your group and what you’d like to cook.

Sign up today to hold your spot in the 2013 summer series of kids’ classes!

Sushi for Kids
Monday, June 10
11:00 – 1:00

Learn how to make sushi rice, rolls, and more – and remember, sushi doesn’t ever have to include fish, so come learn how to shape sushi rice in your hand and roll up what you like, then use chopsticks to eat your creations!

Pizza Party
Monday, June 24
11:00 – 1:00

In this popular class we’ll make homemade dough that you can take home to make pizza for your family, then we’ll each make an individual pizza for lunch along with a salad. With the rest of our dough we’ll make some surprising other treats!

Dessert Party
Monday, July 8
1:00 – 3:00

This will be a baking bonanza, with kids taking home most of their baked goods. We’ll make Chocolate Biscotti,Confetti Cupcakes, Individual Apple Tarts, and Snickerdoodle Cookies. Note that this class will run from 1pm to 3pm (instead of the usual 11am to 1pm) to give kids a chance to eat lunch first.

ADVANCED CLASS FOR KIDS
Cooking For a Cause to Benefit Share Our Strength’s Cooking Matters
Monday, July 15
11:00-2:00
Minimum donation, $50 per student

In this first advanced class for kids, we’ll start with a blank slate, looking at what is in the refrigerator and pantry, and developing a menu together. This will teach kids how to plan a meal as well as execute it. We’ll cook the menu we decide upon, then dine together afterwards. Advanced skills such as cooking techniques and adding layers of flavor and more will be discussed.

All proceeds from today’s class will benefit Share Our Strength through the Cooking Matters program, teaching families how to make nutritious meals on limited budgets.
Kids attending this class should have some working experience in the kitchen already – call me to discuss if your child is ready for the advanced class.

Mexican Fiesta
Monday, July 29
11:00 – 1:00

We’ll start this class off making homemade Guacamole and Salsa for the kids to snack on with some chips, then we’ll head right into making Chicken Enchiladas, Mexican Rice, and a Mexican Caesar Salad. Dessert will be Cinnamon Ice Cream.

Italian for Kids
Monday, August 5
11:00 – 1:00

Everyone loves Italian food, so back by popular request, we’ll make Spaghetti Alfredo, Baked Ziti with homemade Marinara Sauce, Meatballs, and Garlic Bread. For dessert, we’ll make a kid friendly version of Tiramisu. And while everything is in the oven, we’ll have fun making homemade pasta to take home.
