Fast Ripening for Fruit

To ripen fruit quickly, place the fruit inside a bag with a ripe banana. The banana gives off a gas that speeds the ripening process dramatically. Conversely, if you store ripe bananas in a fruit bowl with other fruit, expect the fruit to ripen faster.
