denver-telegraph-meatballs-poentaI’ve been ticking through my list of restaurants I want to try, and these four were simply all great. As such, I’m not going to fill this post with commentary – just a simple checklist of what we tried, with details for each restaurant so you can make a visit yourself.denver-telegraph-pasta-wild-boar-raguFirst up was Telegraph where I had the Cheesy Polenta with Meatballs and Tomato Sauce, my friend had the Tagliatelle Pasta with Braised Pork Cheeks, Grana Padano Parmesan, and Parsley…denver-telegraph-salad-chicken…and my other friend had the Mixed Greens with Toasted Pecans, Kabocha Squash, Sheep’s Feta, Pomegranate Lime Vinaigrette and added Chicken. Nice sunny seat in the dining room, good service, and we couldn’t have been happier.denver-lenaLena is one of those places that every neighborhood needs – nice space, good vibe, great plates of food served in that classic tapas style that makes going out to dinner with friends so much fun. Order a bunch and share like we did.denver-lena-octopus-ceviche

denver-milk-and-honey-salumi-burrataMilk & Honey Bar Kitchen is in the downstairs space near Bistro Vendome – cozy, sort of hip feeling, and friendly. Don’t be fooled by the names of the section of the menu – the bites and small plates section is really quite large – ask your server to tell you what comes on each before you order. Start with the salumi and burrata selection – enough for 2-4 to share.denver-milk-and-honey-tortelloni
I could have eaten a whole bowl of these oxtail tortelloni.
The crab cake was nice and ‘crab-ey’, not filled with breadcrumbs.
Divine crispy polenta – 3 of these comes with the order.
The ribs are listed under ‘bites’ but come 6 to an order
My husband can’t pass up the sweets, so he finished with a cheesecake.
denver-osaka-ramen-vegetarian-green-curryI was so sad to see Twelve close when Chef Jeff Osaka decided to shutter it, and his ramen place has been on my list to get to for too long. Perfect for a snowy day like the day I went there with a friend. I had the vegetarian green curry ramen bowl…denver-osaka-ramen-spicy-pork…and she had the Shoyu with chicken broth and pork shoulder. All I can say is, we’ll be back!
