Restaurant Roundup – Mustard’s Last Stand

May 30, 2011 | Restaurants

Three years ago when we moved near the University of Denver, we said we were going to walk over to Mustard’s Last Stand, that hot dog stand institution, for a taste of their Chicago style Vienna beef hotdogs. Yes, that was three years ago this June, and until today we still hadn’t done it.Well fortunately, my husband can’t stand sitting around bored on a day off of work, so suggested we head over to try them out. Classic chili dog for me with some tomato slices and a pickle (I’m trying to add vegetables to everything I eat, even a chili dog) and a Chicago style dog with sauerkraut for him. The best part? They offer a side called “A Taste of Fries” for only 75 cents – it’s just a few fries which is all any of us need anyway, so you get your fix for less – less money AND less calories. Glad I finally made the trip!

  1. I don’t go down there just for a hot dog but I do make sure in the event that I’m in the area to stop in; one of those simple pleasures I never make at home but so enjoy on rare occasions. And which I’m now craving. Your fault entirely!
