If you’ve been reading along you know that I have a list going of places where I want to dine this year. One of those places was Beast & Bottle in Denver, and boy did I hit the jackpot this time! My plan was to visit these places for lunch, invite some friends along, and catch up while doing some research and enjoying a great meal. Turns out many of them are only open for dinner. So when friends asked to have brunch on Sunday, the day after we returned from 2 weeks of sailing in the Caribbean (more on that coming soon!), I was thrilled to find that Beast & Bottle serves brunch (along with dinner).beast and bottle denver pork belly grits

The restaurant, set in that area of 17th Avenue that seems to be food heaven (right across the street from Marczyk’s), is housed in the tiniest of buildings that looks like an abandoned old garage or something. But the brother and sister team have done a great job making the space comfortable, cozy, and visually interesting. It seems busy and exciting, without feeling rushed and frantic, something that I appreciate for a Sunday brunchbeast and bottle denver egg swiss chard

Another thing I appreciate is a creative cocktail list for brunch, something that’s interesting but doesn’t get you hammered at noon. Beast & Bottle offers an inexpensive standard mimosa and then a special one feature Infinite Monkey Theorem sparking wine. I tried the ginnin’ on the dock of rosé, which features rosé, gin, dry vermouth, grapefruit, and lemon over ice in a champagne flute – delicious! Every one of the dishes you see in this post was outstanding. We all shared bites, we all moaned and groaned, and we all were reluctant to see our meal come to an end. This is a great spot, perhaps one of my favorite new finds, and I can’t wait to go back for dinner!
