Spiced Almonds

Looking for something quick to make to put out for guests to nibble on? Here’s your answer: spiced almonds. You can whip up a batch up these in 5 minutes, and best of all, just store the rest in the freezer. When guests show up unexpectedly, simply zap the frozen nuts for a bit to warm them up and release their aromas.I used a moderate amount of cayenne pepper in my spiced almonds and they have a bit of heat, but not too much (for my tastes). Experiment with your own to find the right level to make you happy!
- 2 tablespoons canola or extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 3 cups whole almonds
- Heat oil and spices in a small saucepan just until hot and fragrant. Add nuts, stirring constantly, until all nuts are coated and nuts are heated through. Let cool before serving.

These look fantastic. I have a big can of cashews that my husband just loves, I might just have to try this recipe with them.
